Here is a unusual, unexpected and unscheduled build. It will be part of the diorama that I'm working on right now. The original idea was to make a fictional ship from the Pegasus class ship that I wanted to use. Then I was just browsing through some websites and came across a few other small patrol boats and finally was looking for a boat which I might be able to build out of the Pegasus hull. Finally I came across the South Korean Chamsuri class of ships and it was a dead match. So began the search for reference pictures which in the end was very sparse.

First step was to remove the original Pegasus' superstructures and sand the hull into the right shape. Luckily length was almost exactly the same. Then the construction of the actual ship began. Also the mast was easy to  construct since it basically just stands on one single pole, other like the other smaller masts I have been working on.

The result so far includes a finished upper structure and mast. Weapons and detailing of the deck will continue another time.

The ship is now finished and ready for the paintjob. It was a quick and easy build, compared to other kits.

The finished diorama:

Pagharang - Interception    or

Mabuhay - Welcome to the Philippines (just don't come uninvited) :)

The other ship is the BRP Mariano Alvarez. Details here.
